A girl can dream... Right?

If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I am a creativity-driven person.  I see things and subconsciously wonder if I could make them.  I'm drawn to colorful and and unique things.  I'm often told that my tastes are a little "weird."  This should make it no surprise that I want to be surrounded by these same crafty, eclectic, colorful and yes, weird things.

A few weeks ago, there was not football on TV and I had a little while to browse some of my favorite channels.  This typically includes: TLC, E!, Food Network, and HGTV.  Well, this Saturday I hit the jackpot!  I discovered Lara Spencer's show, I Brake for Yardsales.  Hello, I think I just found my design hero!

To think that most of these rooms were almost complete furnished with refreshed pieces from flea markets, thrift stores and yard sales blows my mind!

Sigh... Anybody have a house they want to donate to a good cause?

Confessional Friday

In light of today being Confessional Friday over on A Blonde Ambition, I decided today would be a great day to make a...well...confession. So, here goes!

Hello, my name is Jennifer and I am a blog stalker.  Like Leslie here at A Blonde Ambition, have you ever known anybody with better style?  You know Kelly over at Kelly's Korner?  Been reading her since before Harper was born.  Sherry and John (Young House Love) and Katie (Bower Power) - I feel like they're my BFFs.  Ree, otherwise known as The Pioneer Woman, well, I've been reading her blog since way before she had a television show.  Because of Ashley (Lil Blue Boo), I tell myself to "Choose Joy" on a daily basis.  And my heart broke for Megan (In This Wonderful Life) when she found out that sweet Cohen's heart was broken and I waited so very impatiently to find out the twins were here and healthy.  These don't even include the girls that I stalk that I know in real life like Jennifer (The Pink Chick) and Lauren (A Page is Turned).  Who needs Facebook?  Blogs are much more juicy!  Add these to the other 148 blogs in my Google Reader (yes, I just counted) and I think it's safe to say that I am a certifiable blog stalker.

So what made me decide to jump in and start a blog of my own?  Well, I think it's pretty obvious that it's been long overdue. However, recently with the death of Julee's husband, I have found myself overwhelmed with the generosity and compassion of the blogging community.  I never could have imagined women coming together from all over the world to support someone like they have for Julee.  I think the real question here is why wouldn't someone want to be part of the blogging family?

Why Kitchen Table Creations?

As you probably read in the "About Me" section, I am quickly approaching 30 and I live at home with my parents.  Now, imagine moving home after living independently for almost 10 years.  Let's just say, over the years I accumulated a whole lot of stuff.  Now picture your childhood bedroom and shove all of that stuff in with all the other stuff that hung around over the years that I was gone.  To put things quite simply, my room is full of stuff and there is not much room for anything more.

All that being said, I am a very crafty person.  I enjoy creating things, be it gifts, decorations or food.  However, like I've already pretty clearly stated, I don't have room to be crafty.  So, whenever the crafting bug strikes - the creations are always made on the kitchen table.

But, on the other hand, isn't the kitchen table the place everyone wants to be anyway?  No matter how hard you try, everyone always ends up around the kitchen table.  So, join me!  Pull up a seat and share this kitchen table with me.
